Bum Art
Artistic Impressions of the sea
Beach
Bum Art is the combined efforts of Debra Soreff and Melisa Ricks.
Debra and Melisa started Beach Bum
Art in
2006 to use their combined talents to create a broad range of sea-life, nautical
and organic imagery for the home as well as commercial settings.
Debra
Soreff, a Boston native, has a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Sculpture from
Massachusetts College of Art. For the past thirteen years she has been
teaching children’s and adult art classes. Eleven of those years she has
been teaching at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts located in Annapolis. Her
work has been shown locally as well as nationally. Over the years she has
been commissioned by businesses and private collectors to make custom tiles,
mosaics and sculptures.
Melisa
Ricks, a Maryland native, moved to the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay nine
years ago. She is a resident of Breezy Point. As a life long collector of
sea-life art, she has filled her home as well as others with her work. Ten years
ago Melisa discovered clay. After many years of art lessons she decided to
share her work with others. Melisa's current body of work focuses on the
whimsy and beautiful colors that are found in the wonderful undersea landscape.
Artwork produced by Beach Bum Art LLC includes: framed art, tiles, jewelry boxes, pendants, mirrors, and custom murals, countertops to outdoor sculptures.
