Artistic Impressions of the sea
Beach
Bum Art is the combined efforts of Debra Soreff and Melisa Ricks.
Debra
Soreff, a Boston native, has a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Sculpture from
Massachusetts College of Art. For the past eleven years she has been
teaching children’s and adult art classes. Nine of those years she has
been teaching at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts located in Annapolis. Her
work has been shown locally as well as nationally. Over the years she has
been commissioned by businesses and private collectors to make custom tiles,
mosaics and sculptures.
Melisa
Ricks, a Maryland native, moved to the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay seven
years ago. She is a resident of Breezy Point. As a life long
collector of sea-life art, she has filled her home as well as others with her
work. For the past eight years Melisa has been taking ceramic art lessons
as a creative outlet to make the change from stained glass to clay.
Debra and Melisa started Beach Bum Art in 2006 to use their combined talents to create a broad range of sea-life and nautical imagery for the home as well as commercial settings. Beach Bum Art is producing artwork for all surfaces from wall pieces to countertops to outdoor sculptures.
Artwork produced by Beach Bum Art LLC includes: framed art, tiles, jewelry boxes, sea critter jars, mirrors, and custom murals.
